Chinese Rail Equipment Supplier Qiangli Exports Battery-Powered Tamping Machines to Indonesia

HENAN, China - Henan Qiangli Machinery Co., Ltd., a Zhengzhou-based manufacturer of railway maintenance equipment, has completed the export of a batch of lithium battery-powered rail tamping machines to Indonesia, marking its latest move into Southeast Asia's growing rail infrastructure market.

The shipment, confirmed this week, includes CE-certified portable tamping units designed for efficient ballast consolidation on urban transit and regional rail lines. The machines are intended for use in ongoing track maintenance projects across Java Island, where Indonesian railways are expanding capacity and upgrading service reliability.

Unlike traditional gasoline-powered tampers, the exported models operate on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, offering quieter performance and zero direct emissions-key advantages for metro systems and environmentally sensitive areas.

"This delivery reflects increasing demand from Asian rail operators for sustainable, high-efficiency maintenance tools," said Liu Wei, International Sales Manager at Qiangli Machinery. "Our battery-powered tampers reduce noise pollution and eliminate fuel logistics-critical factors in dense urban environments."

Indonesian railway officials have emphasized modernization efforts in recent years, including track upgrades and fleet renewal, supported by both national investment and international cooperation. The adoption of advanced Chinese-made maintenance equipment aligns with broader technology transfer trends in the region.

Before finalizing the order, a technical delegation from Indonesia visited Qiangli's manufacturing facility in Henan Province for equipment testing and validation. Photos released by the company showed engineers conducting on-site demonstrations of tamping depth adjustment and battery endurance tests.
