Track Tamper Machine

The ND-4 internal combustion track tamper machine is used in the engineering and technical departments of railway transport and is suitable for daily maintenance of lines and turnouts, tamping work in emergency repair operations, as well as for clearing frozen soil on railway lines.

The track tamper machine is a compact machine equipped with specialized tools for tasks such as removing frozen ice. It is powered by a petrol engine, which transmits power through a clutch to drive the crankshaft and connecting rod. This motion actuates the piston and impact head, producing a downward striking force on the tamping pick. The resulting vibration compacts the ballast beneath the track, eliminates triangular voids under the sleepers, breaks up frozen sections of the rail bed, and enhances the overall safety of the railway line.

The ND-4 track tamper machine has advanced technical performance, reasonable structure, easy operation, high operational efficiency, good quality of tamping and other characteristics, and has been applied in the field to achieve good results.

The track tamper machine is mainly composed of petrol engine, damping device, transmission shaft, vibration body and handle, constituting an independent and complete hand-held tamping machine, which has neither redundant cable lines nor bulky flexible shafts, and has a reasonable and compact structure, and is easy to use.

The hand-held internal combustion tamping pick is suitable for tamping railway ballast tracks and other granular materials. It is ideal for tamping operations with a track lift of more than 30 millimeters.

1. Holding the tamping pick handle, open the petrol engine throttle to the proper position for tamping operation.

2. When resting between jobs, the machine should be stopped.

3. When stopping the machine, close the throttle to the minimum first, and then press and hold the stop button to stop the machine.

4. When resting for a long time or not using it, the tamping pick should be placed on the ground with the handle facing downwards, so as to avoid dropping and touching the petrol engine.

Note: Do not place the tamping pick upside down for a long time (pick face up).

1. Please refer to the instruction manual of the petrol engine for the maintenance of the petrol engine.

2. Tamping pickaxe wear to a certain extent, should be replaced in time to avoid damage to the sleeve.

3. Repair personnel should often check the tamping picks, timely replacement of wear parts.

4. When disassembling the tamping pick, should pay attention to the various thread rotation: pick and sleeve, flexible shaft assembly and the combustion engine passive disc, under the vibration damper and sleeve end cover connection for the right thread, the rest are left thread.

5. Tamping pick should be stored in a dry, ventilated warehouse, the air does not contain corrosive gases.

6. More than a week or a long time not to use, should put the fuel, and start the use of the automatic shutdown, burning clean fuel in the oil circuit.
