Henan Qiangli Machinery Co., Ltd. has released a new industrial diesel locomotive designed specifically for internal rail transport in heavy-duty environments. The QL-DL3T targets maintenance teams, mining operations, and industrial facilities that rely on narrow-gauge track systems (600 mm to 900 mm) for moving materials, tools, or rail components.

Unlike standard locomotives, the QL-DL3T is built for short-distance shunting where infrastructure is limited and reliability is critical. It features an 11 kW air-cooled diesel engine, mechanical band braking, and a robust Q345B steel frame-allowing it to haul up to 15 metric tons on level, dry track with minimal maintenance.

Field feedback from clients in Southeast Asia and Central Asia highlighted recurring challenges: corrosion in humid climates, difficulty sourcing spare parts, and inflexible gauge configurations. In response, Qiangli integrated several practical upgrades into the QL-DL3T:
